Hi everyone, welcome to New Body Builders. My name is Alan, a Marine Veteran. I am married and have four adult children, eighteen grandchildren and three great grans. I became interested 25 years ago in improving my health and physical strength and started a body building routine. I am a type 2 diabetic, was over 250lbs. My job and home life was stressful, so I needed an outlet to clear my mind, improving my eating habits, strengthen my body and improve my overall well-being. So I became interested in body building. I joined a gym and started lifting weights, running on the treadmill and swimming. I started eating 4 or 5 meals a day consisting of lean meats, fruits, vegetables, and drinking a lot of water. I also added protein supplement’s and cut out all junk and fast foods. Working out helped release stress, clear my mind and improved my thinking. I had more energy! I felt physically better!
